Kramer Family Dentistry Notifies Patients of Security Incident
Kramer Family Dentistry become aware on July 26, 2022, that a data security incident occurring in June 2022 may have resulted in unauthorized access to personal information of some of our patients. Upon detecting this incident, Kramer Family Dentistry moved quickly to initiate a response, which included engaging a team of cyber security professionals to conduct a forensic investigation to fully determine the scope and the overall impact of the incident. It was determined that letters relating to some of our patients’ treatment may have been exposed to an unauthorized third party. The letters may contain the following information: first and last name, date of birth, and diagnostic information.
Please be assured that no patient’s financial information nor Social Security Number was exposed in this incident. Likewise, Kramer Family Dentistry’s electronic medical record with full patient history was not impacted in the incident. There is no evidence of any attempted or actual misuse of any personal information. However, out of an abundance of caution, Kramer Family Dentistry mailed letters to every individual whose information was contained in the letters that were exposed to the unauthorized party providing resources to help protect potentially affected individuals.
Kramer Family Dentistry values and respects its patients’ privacy, which is why notification letters regarding this incident were mailed and included information about the incident. Kramer Family Dentistry sincerely regrets any concern or inconvenience that this matter may cause its patients, and remains dedicated to protecting patients’ personal information.
